When entering debit/credit amounts, you have to wait for the $$-sign to populate in the field before you can enter the amount. This slows down the process of data entry and causes many typos to appear. (In the DB view, the $$-sign populates after you enter the amount.)
I agree with the other comments. NXT is not user friendly & is requiring a lot more time & babysitting to make sure data is correct when we post. Please put my JE back in db view until NXT is complete & mirrors what db did.
Yes, yes, yes! I absolutely agree with the other commenters. When I am entering information, I want to do it quickly and efficiently. This system is becoming less and less user friendly. I don't want to have to point and click in between every single entry I make. It's SO time consuming and leads to errors and great frustration.
I'll also add that when inputting information in a field, you have to actually click out of the field for it to save the data you just input. If you don't, it will just revert back to what was there before the change or just not add anything at all. So incredibly frustrating.
Agree with all comments below! This is SUCH a pain. The Excel journal entry creator is amazing for some things but we should NOT have to go to an external product for this. I was just editing a JE in webview, just a copy/paste to correct several accounts, but even here you have to wait for the 'pop up' with the GL account and select it or it doesn't update. PLEASE FIX!
Also when I type a project then hit tab it doesn't always complete the field. I have to go back and click the project that drops down. Many accountants are used to "head down" entry where you type the date then tab, account then tab etc. Without looking. We know how many tabs to the next column. Database was great at this but NXT is trying to be too "user friendly" with all the "pointy clicky" stuff. We don't want Quicken we want real accounting software.
Agree, data entry for distribution option very cumbersome. Wish the column size could be customized and it saved your preferences. I always have to enlarge the "description" field for every invoice and it never remembers the change -- I was able to do this in DB view!
Data entry in NXT is so cumbersome compared to database view - my major beef is that you can no longer shortcut enter a date in a past month without slashes - so instead of 080524 I have to pick out 08/05/24 which is a pain. Also, I try to remember to enter a zero before typing in debit/credit amounts, which addresses the $$ stupidity.
This trips me up in A/P invoice entry as well. (This doesnt happen with other financial software).
Yes, it does slow down the process because when you enter a number you have to enter the first number twice to get passed that $-sign it populates, hence the errors if you forget.
