Currently the invoice description is printed on the check just above the written out pay amount.  We've had several intances whereas we reference a person's name for whom we are assisting pay a vendor, but the bank sees their name and allows them to cash the check!  Moving the description printed on the check to the bottom left hand corner would be most helpful and would make more sense.  Just like you see it on your personal check memo line.
