View only users should have access to the AP detail that relates to their department and only their department
Our account structure includes two digits that represent the department the income / expense should be charged to. We have view only licenses in place so that our department managers can access GL transactional reports for their department. Currently. NXT has the option for those users to click on an AP transaction within the GL report and for the related invoice detail (check #, paid date, etc) to pop up in a new tab. This would be very useful for many organizations in cutting down inquiries to the Finance / Accounting department. But apparently these users can either have access to ALL invoices within AP, regardless of whether the GL distribution indicates that it relates to their department, or no access. A fix for this would be great for everyone.

Hi David. The pre-built dashboards only provides summarized information (to the best of my knowledge) and do not solve this proposed idea. The view only user is not able to see when their department's invoices were paid, etc.

Hi Tony, we created our pre-built dashboards in Financial Edge NXT so users can only see the source records (i.e. Invoices) if they have account level permissions for accounts that exist on those records. Does this solve your need?

Advanced security is in place but the view only user can still see these invoices if they search on their own within the payables module in NXT. The only detail that is masked with ** is the GL distribution. All other information is accessible though.

Do you have advanced security in place that restricts a user to only certain general ledger accounts? In this case your department segment? If you do, are you saying that it is set up and works in FE7 but not in NXT? Or do you not have advanced security set up?
