During the requisition process, it is my understanding the gl distribution can only be assigned to an actual product that is set up. This product number looks like it is specific to a vendor, price and description. We are a school system with 12 different sites. We could purchase the same item (ie books, instructional supplies) from many different vendors and use many different product numbers. Our part list is vast. We opt now to use a one time product when using creating a purchase order in database view due to simplicity. The webportal would be an awesome product if it would allow for our sites to use a one time product code and assign the appropriate gl distribution during requisition.
Thanks so much for submitting this idea. To help me understand how this would be impactful for you and your organization, can you tell me a little bit more about why having this at the one-time product level would be a better experience than the current, which is to add the GL distribution at the requisition level?
