Detail GL export data

It would be nice to export detail GL information without all the added headers and page breaks from FENXT. I would say most people exporting to excel are not doing so for a nice formatted report, but to manipulate the information. Also, when I do export the detail GL, half of the time the date and reference are not on the same line as the Debit/Credit. Perhaps this could be tweaked as well.

Hi everyone! It's been out for quite a while now, but I wanted to post back and let you know that the "Export excel data" option is available when exporting reports from NXT and strips out a lot of the extra "noise" around repeated page headers, footers, numbers, etc. I hope it meets your needs, but please let us know if you have any feedback!

It would be great if the GL would allow for width beyond a page.  Currently if I try to include both a project and grant, each line takes up 2 lines which makes it difficult to review.  Same for JE reports.

Thanks, Steve. Would you be able to email me a screenshot so I can see exactly what you're referring to?

I noticed that this has been implemented but is not quite ready for prime time. I ran an income statement which uses the VCO and opted to export Excel data. Column headings appear once as expected and subtotals have been removed. However, row headers and total line headers are still included requiring that I still manipulate the data before I can use it, e.g. I need to sort on GL account number and then remove the group of headers that result. However that doesn't work because the export still contains merged cells.

Thanks for sharing! We're actually already planning to do this by adding a new "Export data" option to Excel. The goal is to strip out the additional headers, page breaks, and blank columns and make sure everything is formatting correctly. We hope to have it implemented in the next few weeks!
