Edit line item of receivable invoice after saving

Once a line item has been created and saved, if you go back in to edit the invoice, you can no longer see that line item or edit it. This is very frustrating

    I keep receiving this message when trying to enter a line item. "full support for applying applications automatically will be available in a future release". This seems to be a basic AR function for it to not be available already.
