We have the need to report net profit/(loss) from operations and, for our organization, operations does not include investment income. We show investment income in a "nonoperating revenue/(expense)" section at the bottom of our income statement. Investment income can deviate significantly from budget, therefore we'd like to be able to omit it from the calculation of operating profit/(loss). To do this, we need to be able to add a subtotal line for Operating Net Profit/(loss), which would summarize all revenue and expense accounts EXCEPT investment income accounts. These would be included in the existing "Net Surplus/(deficit)" line at the bottom of the current income statement.
In the past, we have had to use the income statement generated by FE to create an Excel-based income statement, in which we could add the desired subtotal. But it's counterproductive to have to create manual statements, so we'd like for FE to be able to help us create this net subtotal.

Hello Marc, Customer Support wasn't able to help me, which is why I submitted the suggestion. I would welcome your input! Thanks--Michael
You can certainly do this. All you have to do is properly format your VCO. Support might be able to assist you with that; if they can't contact me.
