When I'm customizing an income statement for example and I want to run it for a specific department, I can filter for just that department. In the database view I can chose to see the entire list of departments and their codes and pick from that. In NXT I have to know either the code or the department description to get any options to appear. This is sub-optimal because new employees aren't going to know the entire universe of options to pick from. Little things like this keep pushing me back to the database view
Exactly Thomas. Take your example. Housekeeping is called "Environment of Care" here. Also called "Facilities" in other orgs I've built GLs for. The intuitive search is a fantastic feature but if I'm new to this organization you're essentially requiring me to go through the entire alphabet to see all my departments. Will take longer for new employees to "see" the entirety of the org structure. Just allow the user to hit the magnifying glass with nothing in the field and see all their options (like what happens in the DB view) and this quirk will be fixed.
Hi Chris, Based on your comments the intuitive search, i.e if they knew the department was housekeeping, typing in the H, which yields all entries with an H in them is not sufficient? Do you find this to be true elseware? Also, any additional general feed back on the edit form is appreciated
