The system allows us to provide Accounts Payable detail within G/L accounts, but for some reason we can't do the same for student billing. This has been confirmed by BB support desk. What I don't understand is why then in Student Billing Configuration guide, under Posting Information, does it say that we can have this detail, but yet if you go through the steps, all that shows in the G/L account detail is the exact word 'description'. As I mentioned, you can pull all description detail associated with Accounts Payable, so why not for Student Billing?
Are your accounts set up as control accounts? Go to General Ledger, Configuration, Account Codes. Find the account codes in question and see if the Control box is marked. If it is you can either uncheck it or when you run your General Ledger detail report, you can choose to show the detail. To do this open the report. Go to the Format Tab, Detail section. Mark the box that says "control account in detail".
