Previously after clicking save and generate Financial Edge NXT would generate a pdf report and give you the option to export it in various formats (including Excel). Now you must instead click generate and then click the document type you want the system to generate. The save and generate option is the default option and only generates a pdf. Many reports take a long time to run and its wasteful to accidentally run a pdf and then have to run the entire report again to get the Excel version instead of just having both available once the report is complete like it was before.
