I used to use Great Plains Dynamics and it could generate a report of small open balances in Accounts Receivable within a chosen dollar range, i.e.. between -$25 and +$25.  You could then select all or individual line items that would then be written off to a GL allowance account all at once.  Much quicker and easier than creating and posting individual credit memos and charges to clear small balances.
