I'm saying based on account security, but it could be query based (by vendor or invoice) as well.
The major problem is that our budget managers don't need to see ALL the invoices in our system. It's a lot of extra information to filter out, especially for people who will only log in to approve expenses related to their budget.
The secondary problem is that some staff members have invoices for consulting fees, which should be confidential and not visible to all of our budget managers, making this a data security issue as well.
I came to the Idea Bank specifically to create this idea and found it already existing here. I want the ability to restrict budget managers to only see their own expense accounts in an budgeted/actual dashboard, be able to drill down to see the actual expenses, and then be able to open the invoice record and supporting media documentation for that invoice if they need to jog their memory about what the expense was for. However, outside of the dashboard, I do not want them to be able to go to Accounts Payable and peruse all the invoices in the system, some of which have private information related to expense accounts that they should not have access to view. In short, dashboards today can be restricted by account security which is great, but I would love the ability for them to only get to invoices by drilling down through a dashboard without the ability to to AP > Invoices from the main NXT menu.
