In database view we could hit F2 to enter today's date (in Journal Entry and reports) and F3 to hit the default date from above (in Journal Entry). It made things easier, especially as NXT doesn't always seems to catch all the numbers you are entering if you move too fast, so you get a lot of incorrect dates or the field is blank after you try to enter in it.
