FE NXT Journal Entry keep the same order as the original Excel document

Prior to importing a journal entry I have sorted my excel document by date and GL number. When I open it in FE NXT and database view the information is in a new order, dates are no longer grouped, which makes reviewing or editing before posting difficult. In the database view journal entry import it keeps the information in the same order as the original.

This happened to me last month when I used the journal entry batch creator. It was a journal entry with about 350 rows. It mixed up the rows. It doesn't always happen though. This month, I specifically went to the excel "home" cell and saved it before importing, and it worked fine. I'm not sure it that made a difference or not.

Also, we have had issues with this happening with gift batches that are coming over from RE. Sometimes those batches can be hundreds of rows long. If we have a problem with one of the gifts, it is sometimes difficult to locate it.

I'm happy to provide more information if needed.

      Thanks!

hi all - Thank you for your feedback. We are investigating this issue but need to ensure we’re addressing the correct problem. Could you confirm if this occurs when using the Journal Entry Batch Creator Excel Add-In or when importing from General Ledger > Import > Transaction import? thank you!

What a mess! I just imported a batch today that is several hundred rows long. I have no idea how FE NXT decided to organize the rows, but it is nothing like the way it was in the spreadsheet. Please fix this! This is a problem!

This is a problem even when manually entering a JE. FE NXT rearranges the lines so if someone is proofing it, it will not match the order the lines were entered. Why would it change the line numbers? Very frustrating.

Hi, I just wanted to add that keeping the same row order is extremely important to any accountant. For most accountants keeping related debits and credits together is how we were trained and when reviewing JEs makes it so much easier. Sorting by account number or date is ok, but not enough

This is a very important feature.
