Looking for an up to date response from an Admin on this...
Our IT department is currently updating all computers to Windows 10/Office 2016.
    Development Office is currently updating RE/FE/BBNC to RE 7.96 Patch8 / FE 7.87 Patch 23 / BBNC 7.11 SP 3...
What issues are we going to have?
When will the Blackbaud products be compatible with what is coming up to being an "old" system?

The fact that Financial Edge 7.87 Patch 22 is STILL not compatible with Office 2016, 2.5 years after Office 2016 was released, is unreasonable. This is per BB KB #102474. There is speculation that Office 2019 will be released later in 2018 (https://www.computerworld.com/article/3229906/software-productivity/office-2019-is-coming-heres-what-you-need-to-know.html). Will Office 2016 be compatible with FE 7.87 before Office 2019 is released? If this trend continues, how long will we have to wait after Office 2019 is released until it is compatible with Financial Edge?

Hi Julie! Our Finance staff reported that they receive an error message in Excel 2016 when they try to export a query from Financial Edge 7.87. Error message - “Microsoft Excel cannot open or save any more documents because there is not enough available memory or disk space. To make more memory available, close workbooks or programs you no longer need. To free disk space, delete files you no longer need from the disk you are saving to.”

Thank you all for your feedback on this.  The prioritization of this is currently underway, to help us fully understand the need for this, can you tell me a bit more about what you are unable to do in either FE7 or FENXT due to having Office 2016 installed?

This is unacceptable - Office 2016 has been out for 2 1/2 years.  Blackbaud needs to keep up with Microsoft products so we are not lagging behind.

Will the following article be updated? - https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/102474

It says "Microsoft Office 2016 is not supported with the The Financial Edge. The compatibility between the The Financial Edge and Microsoft 2016 is currently under evaluation by our Product Development team. At this time, there is no estimated timeline for a potentially compatible release."
