I've only been a Financial Edge user for 5 months or so. I like to use Records --> Accounts --> 'Activity' tab to look at what's happened in an account. It's quite helpful for looking up past years/months of activity.
Sometimes, though, I want to see recent activity, and some journal entries we've made have not been posted yet. I would love to be able to see all activity - posted and unposted - in Records --> Accounts.
Otherwise I run a GL report and make sure to include all transaction types, which is certainly helpful as well, but sometimes I'd like to see a quick view of all activity via Records.
Being a new user, is there another quick way to see posted and unposted activity, outside of Reports? (I admit I have not learned how to use Queries, which might help...)
Yes I very much agree, we don't often utilize the accounts records since the transactions don't pick up nonposted items.
Would be very nice to see unposted entries in this screen - we do journals and don't necessarily post until we've completed reconciliations to ensure proper coding. To be required to pull reports defeats the added efficiencies of NXT.
Seeing unposted activity in activity tab of an account record would be super helpful to catch coding errors before the transaction is posted. Since reports do not have "drill down" functionality, enabling the user to see unposted transaction in activity tab would offset the applications drill down deficiency. Just because there are other, more time consuming ways to see unposted transactions should not diminish the need for this enhancement to save time and increase accuracy for the customer/user.
Why not have the option to see unposted entries in these? That would be super helpful for me & my CFO.
Has there been any change in this? I was just talking to support about the same thing. It would be very helpful to see all activity potentially hitting an account. Seems like a simple solution to be able to hit a button to include posted and unposted activity to the account view
Only posted activity will show up on the account records activity tab. That is just how the software is designed to function. As you have noted you can run a GL report or Financial Report to include unposted transactions. You could even run your GL report to only show unposted transactions for review. The other option is to run a transaction query of unposted transactions.
